We are now inviting organisations to participate in a Collaborative Exploration that will explore how best to optimise their HR operating model.
Formicio Collaborative Explorations are a unique way of collaborating with peers from other organisations on topics of common interest. Participation is limited to 12 organisations in order to maximise shared learning.
The case for optimisation
For over a decade organisations have been transforming, developing and refining their HR operating models. During this journey organisations have learnt that if both efficiency and service quality are to be optimised there are trade-offs to be made between different parts of the model, particularly regarding:
- What is best done centrally, versus what is done in the field?
- What is best outsourced, versus what is kept in-house?
- What is best done by the line manager, versus what is done by HR professionals?
- What is best done face-to-face, versus what is done by phone or manager/employee self-service?
Target outcome of the exploration
The aim is to collaborate with peers from other organisations to understand what needs to be done to optimise the quality, performance and cost of HR operating models. The key deliverable will be a shared ‘point of view’ on the optimisation criteria that will enable participants to make informed choices on actions that work best for their organisation.
How will the exploration work?
The exploration will run for six months. It will be led by Peter Turgoose with support from his Formicio colleagues. Peter has extensive experience in HR strategy and operations. The exploration will include three one-day workshops and six teleconferences. Participants will have access to a collaboration platform that will enable them to share documents and participate in virtual conversations. If required, Formicio will introduce subject-matter experts to share their experience and stimulate thinking.
