Overview

Dr Steve Arthers is an experienced business executive and leader of change. He has over 20 years of international business experience in the financial services industry, and specialises in performance improvement of customer-facing business models, in workflow redesign and in transforming organisations through technology deployment. He has extensive experience of delivering change through remote, multi-lingual and multi-national teams.

Expertise

Steve has a strong track record in the design and delivery of transformational change and is highly successful in getting business owners to play their full role in IT-enabled programmes. He understands how to make off-shore development work, and the relationship skills necessary to deliver through outsourced partners. With global leadership experience in both front-line operations and major programme deployments, Steve advises business leaders on how best to meet the challenge of maintaining business growth whilst delivering significant change.

Background

Prior to becoming a consultant and coach in 2008, Steve had a long and successful career with Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading multi-media news and information provider. He conceived and headed the Business Direct Sales channel, managed Global Service operations and led major corporate transformation as Director of Change programmes.

He is based in Switzerland and advises clients around the world. Recent assignments include roles as a programme assurance consultant for a European central bank and programme manager of a major change initiative at a specialist financial services business.

Steve has board experience as President of a Zurich-based Swiss Pension Fund (2006-2010) and on the Audit Committee for Reuters (2001-2004).

Steve holds a PhD in Chemistry from Southampton University, the ICMA International Capital Markets Certification, a certificate in Environmental Management from Geneva University and he is fluent in French.

Steve became a founding partner of Formicio in 2010.
