Accelerate the learning process
Formicio’s Learning Journeys accelerate the learning process. We create a context where a group of people from the same organisation share experiences that build a specific organisational capability or solve a challenging problem. To quote Aristotle, the Greek philosopher:
“For the things we have to learn
before we can do them,
we learn,
by doing them.”
Each Learning Journey is bespoke
Our Learning Journeys are not open programmes. Each journey is designed specifically for an organisation. They are not simulations, exercises or games, but real situations that facilitate true learning.
Typically 8 to 10 people from the same organisation participate in a Learning Journey, which lasts for several months to allow for experimentation and reflection. Designed and facilitated by a Formicio learning guide, the blend of briefings, meetings, action learning assignments, study tours, discussions and experiential visits provide shared learning experiences.
Collective learning, a shared point of view
Shared learning experiences build collective capability and leadership through the development of common language, shared mental models and mindsets. They will give you a shared point of view, turning informed choices into action.
Case studies
Our team has designed, facilitated and guided many learning journeys for organisations around the world over the past 15 years. Examples include:
- A Learning Journey develops change communications capabilities. This Learning Journey helped HR at the Post Office to understand and deploy an innovative new training technology – one that would develop the capabilities they needed to communicate fundamental change across 17,000 outlets.
- A Learning Journey develops the leadership capabilities of 35 top executives. This three-year programme improved the ‘bench-strength’ of the leadership team, building internal capability and reducing the dependence on external consultants.
